Safe & Healthy Workplaces

Employee Attraction & Retention

Heritage fosters employee engagement and retention through comprehensive upskilling initiatives, training programs, career development opportunities, competitive wages, and education assistance.

Partnerships with community colleges, tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs provide opportunities for career development and upskilling.

Cross training, professional development opportunities, and internal promotions are prioritized. Heritage examines wage bands, retention, and attrition rates on a regular basis and responds with equitable and relevant wage investments.

The Learning and Development Department at Heritage is designed with tailored programs to upskill employees. One of our standout initiatives is the EDGE program, a professional networking and development forum for female employees. EDGE stands for Empowerment, Development, Growth, and Engagement, and it is dedicated to celebrating, retaining and cultivating a pipeline of female grocery professionals within the organization

Employee Health & Safety

Heritage has a broad-based employee safety program with stringent safety protocols, ongoing training, and continuous assessments to ensure a secure workplace for all.

Management maintains consistent lines of communication with store level employees.

In 2024, an employee satisfaction survey was conducted across all Heritage banners. This initiative is invaluable as it offers deep insights into employee morale, highlights areas needing improvement, and aids in boosting overall job satisfaction and productivity.

We have curated a team and an environment where people choose to stay and explore the many opportunities our company has to offer. Our leaders are inspiring and knowledgeable. Our associates are bright and determined. Together, we take actions that show our interest and investment in the growth of our brands, our customers and each other.
